Carthage Studies
Carthage Studies is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes research on ancient Carthage (present-day Tunisia), from the Phoenician period to the Early Modern (archaeological, historical, linguistic, epigraphic, numismatic, etc.).
The scope of Carthage Studies includes general research questions, sites, and classes of material in which Carthage plays an important role. Over the years the journal has developed a particular focus on pottery studies and on amphora studies related to Carthage in particular.
It has appeared (bi-)annually since 2007 with both multi-article volumes and more monographic ones. Languages of Carthage Studies are preferably English, French, Spanish or Italian. The journal is edited by Prof. Roald Docter (Ghent University), Dr. Víctor Martínez Hahnmüller (Almeria) and Prof. Boutheina Maraoui Telimini (University of Tunis / INP). An international Advisory Editorial Board guarantees the quality of the manuscripts. Each manuscript that is submitted for publication is reviewed by at least two members of the Advisory Editorial Board and/or external specialists. Acceptance rate (2007-2021) is c. 63%.
